The duties of the Coordinator of Human Resources shall include, but may not limited to:
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all agency teams and corresponding personnel needs on those teams;Recruit applicants for employment, including advertising of positions, soliciting applicants from various sources, making recruitment presentations, etc.
;Initiate the application process, including reviewing applications for completeness, scheduling and conducting initial interviews, referring applicants to teams;Verify employment qualifications of applicants, including checking educational documents, references, background, driver's license and driving records, and physical examinations;Create, update, and maintain employee personnel records, including assuring confidentiality of information contained in those records;Assure that applicants or newly hired employees provide or acquire documentation as necessary to meet the initial and ongoing requirements of the position;Collect and maintain data of employee separation, including conducting exit interviews, providing feedback to the executive director and teams regarding the content of exit interviews, and analyzing turnover;Actively assist teams to retain staff by making recommendations on team management, employee recognition efforts, work schedules, etc.
;Provide support and assistance to agency staff as needed to address personal and work-related issues that cannot be resolved within the teams;In conjunction with other staff, actively participate in employee disciplinary actions;Represent the agency in activities relating to employee benefits programs, including worker's compensation, unemployment insurance, EAP, and employee insurance;In conjunction with other staff, develop and update agency employee relations programs, including personnel policies, affirmative action plans, Title VI compliance, etc.
;Assure that agency employment practices are in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, especially those concerning hiring, separating, and exemptions, by maintaining a familiarity with those laws and regulations and by providing training and consultation for other agency staff;In conjunction with other staff, participate in employee orientation and training activities;Other duties as required from time to time.
Support and guidance will be provided by the Executive DirectorThe Coordinator of Human Resources will be exempt from USDOL Fair Labor StandardsRequirements:
The Coordinator of Human Resource will have a college degree from an accredited four-year college or university or have at least two years of college and two years of relevant work experience.
The individual should be generally familiar with the fields of personnel management, employment law, and public relations; have interview skills; have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with others; and be able to express him/herself clearly and concisely before diverse audiences, both orally and in writing.
